Christmas Clothespin Wreath

Clothespin Wreath for Christmas Photos

This was such a fun gift for family and friends lat year. It didn't take very long to make and turned out pretty cute. The hardest part was being able to paint the clothespins green. It was hard getting a good coat of again to them and in the end, they were not perfect but were still cute anyways.
You will need:
a wire coat hanger
red pony beads
green spray paint
clothespins
red ribbon
hot glue and hot glue gun
1. Paint the clothespins with the green spray paint. I clipped them onto the edges of a coward board box. This strategy seemed to work best but as I said earlier, they are not perfect and it took a few coats to get them good enough for me. You could try to do a very light layer of paint so it looks more like a stain or tint and that might work better.
2. Undo the wire hanger and using pliers twist and turn the hanger into a circle. You will want the hanger to overlap
3. begin stringing the red pony beads onto the wire hanger. You want to alternate clipping a clothespin after all the pony beads are on. After it looks how you want it, you will hot glue the edges of the hanger together and you will also hot glue the how to the hanger. The ribbon that is tied behind it is not connected to the how. That is tied on the wire hanger but it is separate from the bow.

Painting the Snow!

Last year, we used squirt bottles and liquid water colors to paint the snow. This year, we tried it again however this year, we used squirt bottles (like those ketchup and mustard bottles). They have them at walmart. The squirt bottles worked much better for little kids. Here is the link on last years post for Painting the. Snow with water colors. Happy Holidays!

Christmas ball ornament magnets

Red christmas ornaments with magnets on the back. So simple, I found this idea on young house love and decided to try it. I'm glad I did because they definitely make my kitchen look more festive. Also I should mention that, I would still use non breakable ornaments in case they fall off the fridge from shutting it too hard or something like that. The original article by young house love used something else to adhere them but I used hot glue and didn't have a problem with it. They worked perfectly.
Also, I am still loving my chalkboard fridge. I have yet to post a tutorial but will soon! You can take a look at DIY updates for my house

Giant wood stars with twinkle lights for $5

Last week, we had our church christmas party and I was asked to make 6 giant stars for it. I had previously featured this tutorial, make a giant star out of yardsticks for $5. It is so simple and so cheap. If you want a real tutorial, go to the source at Little Bit Funky and follow their directions but these are the few things I did different:
Since I was making many of these, it was cheaper to buy a package of wood pieces at Home Depot so these are not yard sticks and they are cheaper but if you are only making 1, it's probably cheaper to buy yardsticks. If you want to make multiple these came in a package and were zip tied together.
In the tutorial by Little Bit Funky, they painted theirs black first, and then a white/gray over it. I didn't. I painted them gray and then sanded them down and put a dark stain on top to make it look aged.
