A is for art.

Toddler Art Ideas

This week, Logen and I learned and explored A is for ART.

Day 1. we watched fantasia 2000 and colored with crayons & stickers. He was a little more interested in eating the crayons but we tried.

Day 2. we painted with a celery brush and ranch, (a few carrots too!), this was so fun. I put a little food coloring the ranch for color (it stained his hands for a day though). I cut up the end of the celery to make it like a brush.

Day 3. we made puffy bath paint. we got the idea from chalk in my pocket blog. here is the link: puff paint recipe and instructions. it worked really well except it was a little hard to squeeze out of the containers. we played outside in the pool with it and then in the bathtub the next day.

Day 4. we traced our hands and feet. logen was not very willing with this activity so his feet picture didn't turn out so well. lol, oh well.

Day 5. for dinner, I cut a plate to look like an artists palate and we put his dinner on it.

coming up next week: b is for books.

  2. What awesome ideas! I love that you used such a spectrum of art!

I've been doing themes with my little boy for the past few years (he's 3 1/2 now) and I never get tired of them. We haven't done a true art theme yet - you've given me great ideas! Thanks for the inspiration!!
